Cut and connect braided hose line to pressure fittings without power tools or blood. “The Easy Way”  List of tools  Vise  2 lbs Sledge or Heavy Hammer  Sharpened Chisel  Braided Hose  Pressure Fittings  Small Screw Driver  Tape Measure  Block of Aluminum, Brass or Solid Cutting Surface

Cutting Hose The Easy Way  Measure the length of hose needed and mark.  Place hose on block of aluminum / cutting surface  Use heavy hammer and chisel to sever braided line with forceful blows  It is advise to have a back drop to contain your work. The newly cut line tends to shoot away from the cutting surface upon the final blow.

Braided Hose to Fitting The Easy Way  Place hose side of fitting in vise making sure to use rubber faced jaws.  The hose will be slightly squished from cutting… narrowed on the sides  Place one of the narrowed sides into the hose fitting.  With a small screwdriver wedge the other narrowed end into the fitting. The braided hose should be completely inserted in face of the fitting at this point.  This does not take very much force and should be carefully addressed  Once inserted rotate hose, by hand, back and forth until the line is seated into the fitting just before the interior connecting threads.

Hose end Fitting to Pressure Fitting The Easy Way  Run a screwdriver around the inside diameter of the hose from the fitting side.  This makes connecting the male fitting to the female hose end stress-free  Slip male connector into the hose and thread together.  ***TURN WITH HAND ON HOSE NOT FITTING***  Do not use the fitting ends to rotate or thread the pieces together. Hold male fitting in vise and thread pieces together by rotating hose with hand.  Tighten with hand until the line will not rotate then with wrench for final fit, (remembering these are pressure fittings).
