visible- can be seen Distant objects become visible when we look through binoculars or a telescope.

tide- when the level of the oceans and seas rises and falls about every 12 hours This low tide has reached the shore.

shore- the land along an ocean, sea, lake, or river Vacationers love to relax on the beach shores.

chisel- a sharp tool for cutting stone, wood, metal, or other hard materials Artists use a chisel to create works of art.

wedge- a piece of wood or metal shaped like a triangle. One edge is forced between two objects to push them apart. The wedge was forced between the tree stump to insert the stick.

swift- to move very quickly A swift bird can fly away to escape a predator.

analyze- to separate it into parts to study it closely I will analyze the puzzle pieces so they all fit together.

model- a small version or copy of a larger object The model train had miniature parts that should not be left unattended.

current- when parts of a body of water flow together in one direction Some currents flow on the surface and some flow deep below the surface.

coastline- the line that marks the boundary between the land and an ocean or a lake The coastline on a map shows the outline of land next to the water.
