The NGO’s Federation for Child – FONPC Romanian Development Camp 2015

 Is a nongovernmental organization (NGO) created by and for the Romanian NGOs working in the field of child welfare and protection and family.  The main aim of the Federation is to improve the efficiency of child protection in Romania.  Is a nongovernmental organization (NGO) created by and for the Romanian NGOs working in the field of child welfare and protection and family.  The main aim of the Federation is to improve the efficiency of child protection in Romania.

 Represents its members as an interlocutor with the authorities and other partners regarding child and family policies.  FONPC, as a Federation aims to support and strengthen the NGOs community working in the field of child welfare, protection and family.  The Federation aims to clarify and strengthen the image of the NGOs and their impact into community operating in the field of welfare and child protection, and family.

 Proposes and develops strategies for communication and collaboration between authorities, NGOs and other partners advocate and promote children's rights; takes their stand against the violation of children's rights in Romania and worldwide; develops and proposes norms, methodologies and strategies on child rights.

 AUDIS: for a better hearing of the minors in Romania – with the objective to ameliorate the existing practices regarding the instrumentation of the cases concerning minors involved in judiciary or administrative procedures;  The Alternative Report concerning the respect of Children’s rights in Romania;  Together for the Children: Stronger Coalitions in the Black Sea region;  Accompaniment of Child Birth Services- with the objective of analyzing the respect of child’s and the mother’s rights in the perinatal period and highlighting the needs of parents, before, meanwhile and after the birth of the child;  Procopil: ameliorating public policies in the field of children’s, family’s and youth’s protection.

To be presented by the partners)  Accompaniment of Child Birth Services- with the objective of analyzing the respect of child’s and the mother’s rights in the perinatal period and highlighting the needs of parents, before, meanwhile and after the birth of the child;  Procopil: ameliorating public policies in the field of children’s, family’s and youth’s protection.

 In 2009, FONPC, presented the Alternative Report regarding child’s rights respect in Romania at the UN Committee in Geneva.  In 2013, FONPC played an important role in analyzing the results of the national Strategy for the Child’s Rights between 2008 – 2013  FONPC had an important role in building the Strategy for Child’s Rights for

 From 2010, in coalition with other NGOs, FONPC developed a national campaign to influence the legislation and practices concerning the financing the NGOs services.  In 2003 the Federation developed an ample and successful advocacy process for forbidding the institutionalization of children under the age of two. The process continued in 2014 obtaining a law for forbidding the institutionalization of children under 3 years old.  FONPC conducted a study concerning the need for a Child Ombudsman which resulted in the recommendation of a deputy Ombudsman position with responsibilities of the child’s advocate.

 FONPC contributed to simplifying the national adoptions law along with ANPDCA.  FONPC the only NGO member with the right to vote in the Consultative Council of the National Authority for Child’s Rights, consultant of the authorities for the National Strategy for the Child.
