4 Translation of UBL Specifications (1/2) -JPLSC’s Draft is done. -Maintenance is necessary. 5 Translation of UBL Specifications (2/2) -This document explains customization methodologies in view point of XML schema. -No needs to translate for JPLSC, because we don’t customize UBL at XML schema level. -We think that understanding this document may be necessary for UBL users. 6 Subject to understand UBL business documents in order to use UBL in Japan 1.Referring relations of ABIEs in Reusable -There are many ABIEs in Reusable library. -There is no information that these ABIEs are referred from Business Documents or Reusable. -If the referring information would be provided, UBL users are helpful to understand Reusable ABIEs. 2.Understanding values of BIEs in UBL business documents (1)The UBL users should understand how to describe values in Tags of BIEs in UBL business documents. (2)Especially, understanding of ID and Code is important. (3)Method: -Study UBL specifications including format examples and XML instances. -Develop Japanese examples for every BIE of business documents. -Any recommendation? 3.Understanding CCT and DT

7 Guidebook of UBL usage in Japan 1.Guideline of UBL Adoption -Types of UBL adoption: e.g. (1) Adopt UBL as a standard business document in an industry by subsetting the original UBL business documents. (2) Adopt UBL as a common business document between industries. In this case, the mapping of BIEs of business document is necessary. -Merit and Demerit of these types. -Advices and cautions to adopt UBL. 2.General explanation guidebook for UBL users -General explanation of UBL specification package. e.g. Purpose of each document. General contents of each document. -Examples of UBL business document in Japanese language e.g. Example of values in business document spreadsheet. Example of printing format. Example of XML instances. We think that the following guidebook for UBL users are necessary.

8 Related activities concerning UBL in Japan 1.Common XML/EDI Practice Promotion Council -Common XML/EDI Practice Promotion Council has been established in May, This council promote next generation common XML/EDI system for not only big enterprises but also SMEs. -The big candidates of business document at the XML/EDI framework led by this council are ECALGA (developed by JEITA) and UBL. 2.ECOM -ECOM did brief mapping trial between ECALGA and UBL last fiscal year. -ECOM will do further detailed mapping between ECALGA and UBL in this fiscal year.
