Presentation transcript:

You are very athletic and driven. You love playing sports and any type of game. You’re very competitive. You also have a lot of school spirit. You love being involved and participating in whatever comes your way. You are not as focused on school as you are the sports you play, but you do enough to get by and stay eligible.

You are the funny guy or girl in your class. When things get stressful or boring, everyone looks to you to entertain them and make them laugh. You love joking around and seeing other people happy. You are all about having fun and that is the most important thing to you. Your philosophy about life is that “you better live before you die.”

You are very popular and considered one of the “coolest” kids in school. You have a group of friends you always hang out with and do everything together. You care a lot about what they think and the rest of the school for that matter. You are really into the things you have like your iPod and cell phone. You are extremely social and don’t think you could go a whole day without talking to someone or texting, at least.

You are more of an introverted person. You are kind of shy but more annoyed by people who are always asking you questions. You feel like not a lot of people understand you and that most of the people in high school are immature. You are very particular about the way you dress, the music you listen to, and the books you read. You are different and you like it.

You love school – not necessarily the school itself, but the learning involved in it. You are very ambitious about your studies and you are determined to learn as much as you can. You are more interested in getting into a good college than you are at making friends. Your dream is to earn a bunch of degrees after high school, get paid for being smart in your future job, and ultimately become the next genius Einstein.

 Raise your hand if you felt like you were put in the right category. Raise your hand if you did not. Why did or did you not feel like you were classified correctly? What did it leave out about who you are?  Who thinks that they belong in more than one of those categories? Who thinks that they didn’t fit into any of them? Were there some parts of the description of each category that you identified with and others that you didn’t?  Do you think that any of those categories can completely sum up an individual?  How is this similar to our language, the way we speak and the way we speak to different people?
