Also refer to Indicators based on OceanSITES data on the website. Medium OngoingOngoingMaintain OceanSITES Station list and (automate) site catalog (referring to GDAC Index files) High Source all relevant OceanSITES metadata from Global Variables in the GDACS and the Index File details - create script to generate Site Catalog. Ensure that routine network status can be reported in maps (with monthly, quarterly and live Google Earth views) High Set up process to automatically generate site catalog from JCOMMOPS database. Ensure that naming conventions are clear and followed. Process for naming of OceanSITES and check data holdings versus expected. Track presence of historical data. High Develop letter and distribution scripts to send about White Paper documentation for new sites. High Send out list of New OceanSITES Sites to Exec for approval. Put all OceanSITES metadata into the database. Process Spreadsheet and then word docs from for loading into the new database High Follow up on all actions from Steering and DATa management team meetings and Work on tasks as outlined in the 2008 Steering Commitee Meeting report and 2010 Data Managmenet meeting Medium JCOMMOPS to provide an interactive map viewer (Standard JCOMM projection) for OceanSITES layers (on flat earth) within GOOS/JCOMM viewer, as alternative to Google Earth View. Including a viewer for data type. And Google Earth files for all different maps types ie. Data flow, data type and operational status (GDAC/GTS) Medium Check the data sharing for KEO and PAPA (plus FLEX moorings) with CLS America Medium-Low Finalise OceanSITES contact details in JCOMMOPS DB Medium-Low Ensuring OCeanSITES requirements are in BUOY bufr template. See how it can be cross matched from NEtCDF. Create FGDC files for all shapefiles then translate to ISO19115 with Ted's assistance. Medium-Low Input to redesign of oceansites brochure and develop generic powerpoint presentation. Need for promotional material to highlight uses of data and value of the global network (work with WHOI - P White) Medium-Low OceanSITES Web review – simplify the structure, correct missing and incomplete links, missing documents, update site lists and maps, provide link to JCOMMOPS and OSMC for stats. Medium-Low OceanSITES Indices, indicators: Provide entry portal and links for products and indicators on member websites Medium-Low Enhance sharing of platforms, sensor expertise and sensors documentation: Maintain a List of mentors for each sensor and list of participants willing to share platforms Medium-Low OceanSITES MOIN map needs to be updated with existing moorings (plus a vision map created). New Google earth maps needed to symbolise by discipline and by data flow (GTS/GDAC or both). Medium-Low Need for compilation of Best Practices on dealing with Bio-fouling (coordinate documents from Steering Team) Tasks from Project Office
8 Documents to Review Documentation: –Review the ‘How to Become an OceanSITES’ Document and finalize –Review the ‘OceanSITES Approval’ Document –Several sites currently waiting for approval: POSEIDON-Pylos CalOCFI CCE-1 Wyville Thomson Ridge Overflow South China Indonesian Seas Transport Exchange (SITE) Sundra Strait Dynamics Faroe Bank Channel Overflow HAUSGARTEN Agulhas Retur Current Reference Station
