We’re ambitious We work to increase the number of children who go to school and who complete a good quality, basic education. We focus on: Children in countries affected by war Education in emergencies Children from minority ethnic communities Disabled children Children from very poor families Inclusive education for girls

We’re Outraged 39 million children are out of school because of war and conflict in their country

4 Rewrite the Future

In South Sudan we have provided educational material and teaching training to 46 schools benefitting 23,000 children.

In Indonesia we helped tutor 23,408 students in Aceh who were out of school for prolonged periods of time.

Children affected by an emergency In Myanmar we helped 43,000 children with education

We’re outraged Millions of school-age children will never see the inside of a classroom

Language barriers are a big issue for children from ethnic minority groups. We focus on inclusive education. Children from ethnic minority groups

Save the Children have helped 114,000 children aged 4 to 14 in Vietnam through Ethnicity Minority and Bilingual Education projects

We’re outraged Disabled children are in danger of missing out on education

We piloted programmes where disabled children were taught alongside mainstream children. Disabled children

Disabled children in many countries have the chance to go to school for the first time.

We’re Outraged Children from the poorest families are most likely to miss out on school. They may have to work to help support their families

Children from poor families may have to work to support their family. 500,000 children in Calcutta are employed as domestic help. Children from the poorest families

2.2 million people have been displaced in Sudan. We have set up schools enabling children who would not have access to school the chance to learn.

We’re outraged 82% of school aged girls are out of school in South Sudan

Inclusive education for girls

We keep our promises to help 87,000 children in China get a better education to help more than 1,100 vulnerable children go to school in Ethiopia to distribute an additional 20,000 educational kits to temporary camps and learning centres
