Best Start Child Care Spaces Update Expansion of 35 New Best Start Child Care Spaces Riverview School - 26 spaces which will include toddler & pre-school care Nursery School - Using data gathered from the EDI, we continue to pursue this avenue of Early Learning. Currently a needs assessment is taking place in the community of Emo Best Start Annualized Funding: Includes, Wage Subsidy, Fee Subsidy, Special Needs Resource, and Administration funding for the DSSAB to administration the programs

Using the information gathered we can begin to strategize the tools for moving forward with Best Start Integrated Services: Information obtained from Community Planning Sessions Input developed from Best Start Advisory Groups Using our Best Start Integrated Implementation Plan

Communication strategies to reach parents Hold face to face meetings with parents to discuss their needs and the needs of their children Hold Early Learning coffee drop in sessions frequently at different locations and at flexible times for parents Ensure the location of activities are easily accessible by parents Offer cultural events in location that are easily accessible

Communication strategies to reach parents Attend community events such as: Health fairs, trade shows, school events, parks and recreation activities to educate parents on the importance of early learning Promotional activities such as: newsletters, brochures, information boards, radio spots, newspaper, , fax, mail and face to face meetings Offer incentives that will allow for parents to become engaged in Early Learning activities, such as: transportation, refreshments, coupons

Community Integrated Services Planning Table Work closely with Community Partners on continued development of child care spaces Gather information on community service needs and utilization trends Work with existing service delivery partners on coordination and integration of services through a hub model at a community level Strategize for service delivery at locations that make sense to parents
