Welcome Back! Are you ready to talk football? Let’s see what we remember.

What are the offensive formation requirements for a regular scrimmage play in an 11-man football game? All players must be inbounds. All players must be linemen OR backs. Five linemen numbered No more than 4 backs (1-49 or 80-99). All players must be set for at least 1 sec. prior to snap. 1 back may be in motion at the snap.

2&8 on the A35. Team A is running a no-huddle offense and is at the LOS. All players are standing at their positions with the center in his stance grasping the football. The QB calls for the team to huddle. The center releases the ball and all Team A players huddle 7yds from the ball. The Team B coach starts shouting for a false start. Ruling? Legal action. The center “may take his hand(s) off the ball, but only if this does not simulate the start of a play”. Rule a-3

Team A’s free kick from A40 is caught by B35 at the B26 yard line. B35 has one foot clearly out-of-bounds at the time of the catch. Ruling? Free Kick Out of Bounds Team A re-kick at A35 OR Team B 1&10 at B30 yard line OR Team B 1&10 at B31.

A30 picks up the ball and runs wide left to the B35 in advance of the line to gain. Ruling? (a) No 1 st Down – Team B’s ball; 1&10 at the B47. 4 th Down Fumble Rule (b) Team A; 1st & 10 at B35

B45 intercepts a legal forward pass at his own 7- yd line. After running several steps, he is hit and fumbles. The ball rolls and strikes the pylon at the front corner of the end zone. Ruling? Safety The impetus that placed the ball out of bounds in the end zone was B45’s fumble.
