Welcome to COMP1115 Business Computer Applications II Ted Snell Microsoft Project and Microsoft Access

Microsoft Project we will be using Microsoft Project 2007 you will learn the basics of Project Management Microsoft Project documents and manages your projects calculates dates assigns responsibilities estimates costs

Project Goal the Project Goal is achieved when a series of tasks are completed that produce a desired outcome at a specific level of quality within a given timeframe and budget

Project Goal short and simple as possible, but not vague as detailed as necessary to clearly communicate: time frame budget expectations specific scope work involved in creating the products of the project and the processes used to create them

Example Project Goals find a job (vague) secure a local job within the next six months in the area of information systems that pays at least $ annually organize the company retreat (vague) plan the annual company retreat in the month of January in a warm climate convention centre within a budget of $ build a house (vague) build a four-bedroom house in Lincoln Park within a $ budget by July 1

Project Management Microsoft Office 2003 helps you to meet project goals by: providing tools for: entering analyzing tracking and summarizing information about the project

Microsoft Project Tools open the LAN-1 file in the ProjectFiles folder in COMP1115Tsnell on the shared directory go to View > View Bar (this means go to the View Menu at the top of the screen and choose View bar from that menu) you will notice a variety of ways to view your project switch to the Gantt Chart view on the View Bar
