WHAT IS GOD’S NAME ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE? “God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.” (Ex. 3:14) God said to Moses, “I am the LORD. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as Yahweh (Jehovah), but by my name Yahweh, I did not make myself known to them.” (Ex. 6:2,3) “I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I AM (Yahweh).” (Jn. 8:58)

WHO IS GOD? IS GOD ALLAH OR JEHOVAH (YAHWEH) ? ARE THEY THE SAME GOD? DOES IT MATTER?

WHO IS ALLAH ACCORDING TO THE KORAN? “Allah is the Eternal, absolute; He begets not, nor is He begotten…” (Surah 112:2,3) WHO IS YAHWEH ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE? “And the WORD became flesh and dwelt among us, the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (Jn. 1:14) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” (Jn. 3:16)

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT GOD’S NAME? 1. GOD’S NAME IS MAJESTIC! “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!? (Ps. 8:1) 2. GOD’S NAME CAN BE TRUSTED! “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” (Ps. 20:7)

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT GOD’S NAME? 3. GOD FORGIVES ACCORDING TO HIS NAME! “For the sake of your name, o LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.” (Ps. 25:11) 4. GOD’S NAME IS MIGHTY TO CONQUER! “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD ALMIGHTY, whom you have defied…” (I Samuel 17:45)

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT GOD’S NAME? 5. GOD’S NAME IS TO BE GUARDED AND REVERED AND RESPECTED! “Do not take the LORD’S name in vain.” (Ex. 20:7) 6. GOD’S NAME BRING’S US SALVATION! “And whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” (Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13)

JEHOVAY- ROHI (GOD IS MY SHEPHERD)

TRUTH TO LIVE BY 1. GOD HAS MADE HIMSELF KNOW TO US BY HIS NAME AND THEREFORE HE HAS INITIATED THE RELATIONSHIP WITH MAN. 2. GOD’S NAME (YAHWEH, JEHOVAH, JESUS) IS THE ONLY NAME UNDER HEAVEN KNOWN AMONG MEN THAT BRINGS SALVATION TO MAN!

TRUTH TO LIVE BY 3. GOD’S NAME IS ALWAYS TO BE REVERED, RESPECTED AND HONORED 4. WE HONOR GOD’S NAME IN PRAYER BY RECOGNIZING WHO HE IS AND WHO HE IS FOR US!
