St Albans AGM 2012 Goals for CONNECT to care & grow – about offering mentoring HOST to know one another better – about extending our hospitality. PRAY together more – forming prayer triplets and joining monthly prayer gatherings SERVE also in Crewe Crescent – about serving the community of immigrant people in our backyard.

VISION STATEMENT What we want to become as a church. It focuses on our future state and describes what St Albans wants to look like in 5 years time. It articulates our dreams and hopes for our church, reminding us of what we are trying to build. Vision is for the benefit of our church members. MISSION STATEMENT Why we exist as a church/Whats our purpose? This focuses on our present state and is for the benefit of our members and the wider community.

A Vision Statement is to express what we think is the most important accomplishment of our church; and then to state how this can be accomplished. St Albans Vision is to see people passionate for Jesus and growing in community and mission, through experiencing God’s Love and Word and being led by the Holy Spirit [in all of life].

There are 3 sets of key words here Passionate, community & mission God, Jesus & Holy Spirit God’s Love, Word & Leading A Mission Statement describes ‘Why we exist as a church/What is our purpose. Our Mission is: To make disciples of Jesus from all nations.

42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. 43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity - 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. (NLT)
