* Contacting the teacher If you wish to speak to your child’s teacher:  You can write a message in your child’s reading record  They will be available on the playground at the beginning and end of the day, if you have a quick, short message.  If you wish to have a more in-depth discussion with the teacher, please arrange an appointment with them for a time after school which is suitable for you both.  The teacher’s addresses will be on the website. Please remember that the teacher may not get to read this message until after school, or even the following day!

Now they have reached Year Four and spent a year in our school learning about our expectations, routines and rules, we expect the children to show a more mature approach to learning. This includes a willingness to listen in class and follow instructions when asked to complete independent tasks. We hope that throughout the year, the children will become more organised, independent and more responsible for their own learning and belongings. In order to achieve this goal, the year group has a series of incentives to reward those children who display excellent learning behaviour (and also consequences for those who don’t!) * Behaviour Expectations

* Courtesy * Consideration * Care * Co-operation * Commitment

* Please make sure the children are wearing the correct school uniform * Wrist bands, jewellery and nail varnish are not part of the uniform so please make sure they are removed before your child comes to school * PE and Games kit * All clothing needs to be named so that it can be returned if it has been lost.

Housepoints Children can earn housepoints for both themselves and their ‘house’. Staff will reward children with housepoints for a variety of reasons, including; E xcellent class work. As in Year Three, the intervention programmes will also be running in Year Four at different times throughout the year. The main focus of the programmes are to support those children who have ‘slipped behind’ in their expected personal progress since starting our school. The groups are not designed for those children who are judged as ‘behind’ against a ‘national average’ – these children will be supported within the classroom. Mrs Everett is our Intervention TA * Intervention
