Learning objective: I will be able to categorise words and develop techniques to learn spellings, gender and plural forms. Success criteria: 1. All students will be able to correctly identify nouns, adjectives, verbs and other parts of speech. 2. Most students will be able to identify the gender of nouns. 3. Some students will be able to find out the irregular patterns of adjectives

'The Four Elements' by Joachim Beuckelaer What are the four elements? Which ancient civilisation developed the concept? How could they be used in art? In which century did the become popular in art? In which country? Prediction.

Create a vocabulary page in your book which can be used to categorise words. You will need columns/rows for: 1. Nouns categories, masculine and feminine(and neuter), plural 2. Adjectives categories How would the table look? Or tables? Use a dictionary to complete the table for each picture. What would be a realistic number of words to look up so you can give a description of each picture?

Learning objective: To be able to use nouns and adjectives to describe one of the Four Elements. We will be working on paper today, and use the folder for a final neat re-draft for assessment. Wednesday 4 December Starter: Say words in turns and translate with partners. Peer assess the pronunciation. Put a question mark next to any which are difficult to say.

Plenary Presentation feedback and peer assessment. Homework - Use the internet or a real photo/poster for your own presentation tomorrow. It could be a freeze frame from a video game.
