Kentucky Center for Education & Workforce Statistics (KCEWS) Why choose a centralized model? 1.Better data matching and de-identification than agencies independently do which improves over time as incomplete data can be filled in. 2.Provide a state-level perspective instead of a single agency perspective and ability to address issues agencies which are outside agency scopes or politically sensitive. 3.Lower overall costs by centralizing tools and analysis resources that can be used by all the participating agencies providing a stable platform despite changes within agency infrastructures, and create an infrastructure in which other data warehouses can be built. 4.Easier to get support with one budget request. 5.Less confusing information by coordinating efforts and state metrics. 6.Politically stronger by being insulated from individual sectors and more stable because of distributed governance.
