What subjects are on offer? Walton High School – A level Subjects (25 in total)  ART  BIOLOGY  BUSINESS STUDIES  COMPUTER SCIENCE  CHEMISTRY  DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (PRODUCT DESIGN)  DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (FOOD TECHNOLOGY)  DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (TEXTILES)  ECONOMICS  ENGLISH LANGUAGE & LITERATURE  ENGLISH LITERATURE  FILM STUDIES  FRENCH  GENERAL STUDIES  GEOGRAPHY  GERMAN  HISTORY  ICT  MATHEMATICS  FURTHER MATHEMATICS  MEDIA STUDIES  PHYSICAL EDUCATION  PHYSICS  PSYCHOLOGY  RELIGIOUS STUDIES (PHILOSOPHY & ETHICS)

What subjects should students choose?  Subjects which they enjoy and which interest them.  Play to their strengths – subjects which they are good at.  Subjects that will help them with their next move.  The desire to study something new.

Entry Criteria  5 GCSE passes at A*-C in at least four subject areas including Mathematics and English.

We care about student progress  We monitor regularly – newly developed student tracker, reports, tutor time etc.  We involve students, staff and parents in the process.  Data from Tracking used to identify students struggling – possible mentors/supervised study sessions  Large Percentage of our students go on to Higher Education – over 80% for the last two years  New sixth form centre for 2015

The Application Process  For all students currently at a school in the collegiate the application process is online at  Your login and password will be issued by your tutor. If you need to check go to the Sixth Form Office to see Mrs Wellings (6th Form Admin)  If you are not currently a Walton Student you should speak to one of us tonight or telephone the school and ask to speak to Mrs Wellings (6th Form Admin). Your application will need to be paper based.  Packs are available tonight in Reception.

What Happens next?  Complete on-line application form – before Collegiate deadline: 30 th Jan  27th February UCAS Progress closes  Each applicant will be interviewed by a senior member of staff 1st February onwards. Interviews to focus on:  Suitability of choices  Current performance and likely exam results  Future aspirations  Discussion of any areas of uncertainty  If needed, make alterations and re- apply (may happen during interview)
