How Do You Write the Next Generation Climate Action Plan?

Eric Eberhardt, Associate Director Energy Services, UCOP Eric Eberhardt is the Associate Director, Energy Services for the University of California system in the Office of the President. His responsibilities include energy efficiency program development and management, utility and regulatory liaison and articulating the University of California’s position related legislative activities. Mr. Eberhardt has worked in a variety of engineering, business development and management positions with Sun Microsystems and Quantum Energy Services and Technologies. Most recently Mr. Eberhardt worked with Pacific Gas and Electric Company as a Strategic Account Manager for the Healthcare and Hospitality Segments on the Corporate Accounts Team, and as a Principal Account Manager and Supervisor for California’s first active Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) implementation. Mr. Eberhardt holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a Certificate in Construction Management from the University of California Extension, Berkeley.

Nick Balistreri, Energy & Utilities Analyst Facilities Management Services, University of California, Office of the President Nicholas Balistreri has over five years’ experience in various sectors in the energy industry. He is currently the Energy & Utilities Analyst for the University of California, Office of the President where he provides technical input on natural supplies, biogas projects, legislative and regulatory analysis, and directs the University’s carbon management program. Prior to his current position he worked for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in Washington, DC regulating interstate natural gas and oil pipeline industry. He graduated from American University in 2008 with a Master of International Relations and holds bachelor degrees in Physics and Anthropology from UC Santa Barbara. Go Gauchos!

Camille Kirk, Assistant Director of Sustainability, Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability, UC Davis As Assistant Director of Sustainability in the Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability office, Camille works on plans, such as the UC Davis Climate Action Plan, which provide vision, direction and support for sustainability efforts at UC Davis. Her key areas of focus include climate protection; campus sustainability metrics assessment and reporting; communications, including the campus sustainability website, blog, social media, and communication and outreach campaigns; and campus water, landscape and storm water matters. Camille holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography, with a minor in Asian Studies, from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Arts in Geography from University of California, Los Angeles.

Charlotte Strem, Assistant Director of Physical and Environmental Planning, UCOP Charlotte works with all ten University of California campuses and all five medical centers on land use and environmental planning. She works on Long Range Development Plans, and administers the University’s compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act. She chairs the Sustainable Transportation and the Solid Waste and Recycling Working Groups to implement the UC Sustainability Policy. She has worked for UCOP since Her career in the planning field includes both the public and private sector work for cities, counties, regional and territorial governments, and private consulting. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies (UC Santa Barbara) and a Master’s degree in City Planning (University of Pennsylvania) with Certificate in Urban Design.
