 United Kingdom has a population of 62, 698, 262.  In a population of 1,000 people, there are birth and 9.33 deaths.  The sex ratio of UK for is males/female.  The life expectancy in UK is years (male: yrs & female: yrs).  The religions in this nation are Christian 71.6%, Muslim 2.7%, Hindu 1%, other 1.6%, and none 23.1%.  Ethnic groups are 92.1% White, 2% Black, 1.8% Indian, 1.3% Pakistani, 1.2% mixed, and 1.6% other.  The official language of UK is English.  Public education in the United Kingdom is for 16 years.

 UK’s full country name is: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in short United Kingdom, and abbreviation- UK.  UK doesn’t have an official day of independence, any national holiday, and a written constitution.  UK’s government is a monarchy. The Executive branch is made of chief of state (Queen Elizabeth II), head of government (Prime Minister David Cameron), and the Cabinet.  The legislative branch is consisted of the House of Lords and the House of the Commons

 Election for the Executive Branch is by hereditary, meaning from blood. The royal family of the Queen will inherit the royal crown of UK.  The position for prime minister is of the majority party or the leader of the majority coalition.

 UK has the third largest economy in Europe. In recent years, it had grown its social welfare programs. Agriculture is intensive since 60% of their agriculture needs less than 2% of labor force. UK’s natural resources are coal, natural gas, and oil. However, gas and oil reserves are declining as it UK is now more focused on being a net importer of energy since  The GDP for UK is $2.189 trillion. Most of the GDP is coming from services (77.1%), then industry (22.1%), and lastly agriculture with barely (.9%).

 Agriculture products in UK are cereals, oilseed, potatoes, vegetables; cattle, sheep, poultry, and fish.  Industry businesses include machine tools, electric power equipment, railroad equipment, shipbuilding, aircraft, motor vehicles and parts, electronics, chemical, coal, petroleum, paper products, clothing, textiles, and other consumer goods.

 One of the major problems is the use of illegal drugs in UK. Synthetic drugs and chemicals such as the Southwest Asian heroin, Latin American cocaine, and other drugs are an negative influence in society.  Another problem is the decline in GDP (by 3.8%) making the recession very deep.  A huge issue is the rise of unemployment of more than 2 million creating poverty in the UK.

 The main three political parties in UK’s parliament are Labour, Conservative, and Liberal Democrats.  Political Parties in the House of Commons are Plaid Cymru (Wales), Scottish National Party, Northern Ireland’s various political parties, and minority parties like the Green Party.  Political Parties in the House of Lords are Crossbench Peers group and the Labour.
