Two mechanics working a contract with a major airline were repositioning a Boeing 747 heavy... “Hey, Cletus, where is dat dadgum checklist ??” “Tought you had it last, Roscoe. Ain’t no thang, we got this one whipped !!!..”

…as the mechanics spooled up outboard engines #1 and #4, the aircraft began to roll and roll and roll….and….

…they soon learned that the “BRAKES” are provided by the hydraulic system on inboard engines #2 and #3….

Using a checklist doesn’t mean you don’t know your job….. It’s a means of keeping your job and doing it safely and well.
