I can meet everybody, including my grandma. I can spend time with them and then leave to go to the college party. If it is not possible to do both, I would choose the family gathering. Family is very important and they will be a part of you for your entire life. I would be very disappointed about the freshmen party, but there will always be more parties throughout my college life. There will also be many more opportunities to meet new people. On the other hand, it is difficult for family members to gather together because everyone is busy with their lives.
