At CREC PSA… ALL students are given information, experiences, support and the needed skills to attend college.

Today you will… 1.Learn what college is a. Along with associated vocabulary 2.Complete a word search about associated vocab. 3.Play a game using your new vocabulary 4.Watch presentations by your teachers about their colleges 5.Complete an application to attend one of your teacher’s colleges

Definition of College col·lege (2 syllables) noun, often attributive \ˈkä-lij\: a school in the U.S. that you go to after high school : a school that offers courses leading to a degree in a specified subject (A diploma is the paper award for earning your degree.)

Colleges vs. Universities Originally was the difference between a 1-4 year school (college) and 4-8 year school (university). The terms are now interchangeable and simply mean a school after high school for higher education and degree granting.

Jeopardy which when defined = Risk of loss – 3 teams – The name of each winning team member will also be entered into the Gift Card drawing mentioned previously (you can be entered more than once) – OR BINGO – Each individual plays alone on their BINGO Card – Teacher says a College Vocab. definition, student must figure out the word, and cross that word off their BINGO Card if that word is on their card – 5 Winners are determined when they fill their card – Winners entered into a Gift Card drawing mentioned previously (you can be entered more than once)

Selecting the BEST College FOR YOU! Teachers will now present different colleges to you, you will then select the school that fits you best, and apply to it.
