HOPE PROJECT 2007 Project Activities: 6-week Nutrition Course –2 hours, one evening per week –Teaching sessions and cooking demonstrations, reinforced by at-home cooking assignments –Field trip to grocery store to practice healthy food selection and reading of food labels –Teaching materials include: Healthy Hispanic Foods Resource Kit & Fruits & Veggies More Matters Establish neighborhood walking group Establish morning exercise class

HOPE PROJECT 2007 Anticipated Accomplishments: Health Education on: –Appropriate portion sizes –How to read food labels –How to prepare traditional Hispanic foods in healthy ways Increase consumption of fruits & vegetables Increase physical activity
