Presentation transcript:

General Presentation Suggestions - Each bullet should be a thought. Full sentences should be avoided and multiple sentence bullets should NEVER be done. - Think of your presentation as your set of notes. Each bullet should tell the listener what you will be talking about - DONT READ THE SLIDES TO THE LISTENER We can read, we are here to hear what you have to add to these bullets - Be confident in what you are talking about. YOU are the expert on your topic. Talk like it

Title Slide This slide should introduce the listener to your topic. - Catchy good, or straight to the point. You choose Your name here

Element Specifics - Need AT LEAST the name, symbol, atomic mass and atomic number - Feel free to add other periodic table information, but be careful. You should be able to talk about anything that is on this slide. - Fancy facts that you don't understand are not suggested

Element History - Here you will be giving the listeners some background on your element - Give the listener some general information about it’s discovery (date, year) - You might want to also add some detail here if there is a story behind it’s discovery is interesting, or if there is a lot of history for your element - You should end this section with something that naturally leads into your next slide

Argument #1- First reason why your element is THE most important - This is the first part of the presentation where you get to make a case to your audience about why your selected element is THE most important - Give examples of important uses - Explain how this element has a huge impact on our lives, or on our history - Remember, you are trying to convince the audience that you are right

Argument #2- Second reason why your element is THE most important - This is your last slide to make your case. - I would suggest making this your biggest reason why this is THE element to know - Put your biggest example here, the example that really grabs the listener’s attention

Sources Cited: Pictures:- We will talk about this one. Be sure that you are using pictures that you are allowed to use - URL copy is fine Information: - Feel free to simply list the websites you used - Needs to be BY SLIDE. - I should be able to quickly go check out the source of each slide. More than one per slide, add a little 1, 2,3… to the end of that bullet that goes with that source
