The 3 parts Preamble Has 8 parts Articles There are 7 articles Amendments There are 27 First 10 are known as the “Bill of Rights”

Article #1 Legislative Branch Also known as “Congress” - Two Houses House of Representatives -Must be at least 25 years old -Serve 2 year terms -Must be 7 years a U.S. citizen -Must live in state they represent House of Senate -Must be at least 30 years old -Serve 6 year terms -Must be 9 years a U.S. citizen -Must live in state they represent

Article #2 Executive Branch Also known as “President” Must be at least 35 years old Serve 4 year terms Can only serve up to 2 terms Must be 14 years a U.S. citizen Must be born in U.S.

Article #3 Judicial Branch Also known as “Supreme Court” Has 9 justices, 1 is the Chief Justice Can be any age Serve life terms (Retire, Impeached, Death)

Article 4 RELATIONS AMONG STATES Citizens of each state have rights in other states Criminals who flee to another state will be returned

Article 5 Amending the Constitution 2/3 of both houses can propose a new amendment 3/4 of all states to pass amendment

Article 6 Constitution is the Supreme Law No other laws can over ride Constitution

Article 7 How to ratify the Constitution 9 of the 13 states had to approve the Constitution before it became law
