C OLORADO C OMMUNITY C OLLEGE S YSTEM What is CTA  Colorado Career and Technical Act, CRS  Adopted by the Colorado General Assembly to provide assistance to local school districts operating CTE programs approved by the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education.

C OLORADO C OMMUNITY C OLLEGE S YSTEM What is CTA continued  Colorado has a pool of money created by a line item/categorical in the state budget CRS That pool of money is distributed to CTE programs across the state on a pro-rated basis.  Once the cost per FTE enrolled in CTE programs exceeded 70% of the district PPO, 80% of the first $1250 spent on CTE programming is eligible for reimbursement. After that, 50% of the amount spent is eligible for reimbursement.

C OLORADO C OMMUNITY C OLLEGE S YSTEM CTA Auditing  School districts receiving funds under the CTA are subject to audit by CCCS. The reported CTE costs, related FTE and compliance with the provisions of the CTA statute are reviewed during the audit. Any differences between originally reported amounts and audited amounts are adjusted in accordance with Section 7 of the “Rules of the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education under the Colorado Career and Technical Education Act.”

C OLORADO C OMMUNITY C OLLEGE S YSTEM Facts  FY13 year’s average rate of reimbursement was 25% and the proration rate was 94%  Historically the average rate of reimbursement is 23.5% and proration rate is 91%  Last year the State of Colorado provide $24,218,018 for approved CTE programs
