Science of Narrators (ELMUR REJAAL) Lesson 2 Importance of this science Part one: The biography of the narrator (USMAA/FAHRAST) (SOGRA) The History of ELMUR REJAAL

Importance of this science Based on what was mentioned previously the importance of this science is understandable, which is to verify the authentication of a hadeeth, which will lead us to deduce the proper ruling, verdict, or any Islamic knowledge which relies on the hadeeth, even the explanation or the interpretation of the verses of Quraan. By this science the whole process of EJTIHAAD or deduction of any Islamic concept becomes more accurate.

Through ELMUREJAAL we define the identity and the status of the narrator in the link or the support of the hadeeth. Through ELMUL HADEETH we define the type of the hadeeth based in the link or the SANAD of it. Through ELM USOOL ALFIQH we define the value of the hadeeth being proof or not. Through ELMUL Fiqh after studying the Text (MATN) and we derive the ruling or an Islamic concept. This shows the relation and the interaction of ELMUR REJAAL with other science in the process of EJTIHAAD. We mentioned in ELURREJAAL we studies two things: a.The biography (USMAA/FAHRAST) b.The Principles (USOOL)

Part one: The biography of the narrator (USMAA/FAHRAST) (SOGRA) Basically this was the root science from which the Scholars of REJAAL derived the rules and the principles (KOBRA) of REJAAL. Similarly when the scientist concluded that every metal expands with heat, was derived by the specifics like heating different metals such as iron, copper, zinc…, they came to a conclusion or a KOBRA or a general rule. So the USOOL or principles of REJAAL were derived by a comparative study of all the narrators in the books of biography of the narrator’s or encyclopedia of the narrator's biography.

But as mentioned in Hadeeth science that the first person who categorized the narrators in four categories was IMAM ALI (AS): a.A hypocrite. b.An unintentionally mistaken person who narrates without knowing that he is incorrect. c.A narrator who is not aware of what he narrates has been abrogated. d.The accurate, pious and trusted narrator. And there are several narrations narrated by our Infallibles (AS) which define the Just, the truthful, the most pious, and the trustworthy narrator. Some of these criteria were mentioned to resolve a conflict between the narrations.

The History of ELMUR REJAAL The first author who wrote the book of REJAAL was ABDULLAH ALKANANI who died in 219 A.H. After him the scholars started to write the books in this science. And the most famous contemporary work in ELM REJAAL was done by the great HOWZA reformist, who cleared and cleaned the whole process of EJTIHAAD or deduction from many weak concepts and principles which were used in the process by his predecessors, and several MOJTAHIDS opposed him, but he was always strong in convincing other MOJTAHIDS by his logical approach in criticizing and providing better strong methods for EJTIHAAD.

S. ALKHOEI criticized many concepts and methodologies used by previous great scholars in various science involves EJTIHAAD, he had so many observations and criticism in the methods and theories of ELMUREJAAL too. Such ended up in writing the whole encyclopedia of narrators in 23 volumes. In which he also spoke about the KOBRA or the principles of REJAAL. So his book has narrators, and most distinguishing things about his book is: 1-The narrators are arranged in Alphabetical order, and the ones who narrates from him and from whom he took his narration. 2- Every narrator goes through a very accurate and intellectual investigational process. Dr. Abdul Alhadi ALFADHLI has mentioned about fifty books written in this field, since the first book until now; we will focus on 10 of these books:
