Initial objectives are to facilitate the addition of joint access to the current AKO product; migrate a limited number of joint users--one hundred fifty thousand--and content; and support the expansion of AKO to DKO through pilot projects with Joint Forces Command and DISA. The first group of pre-authorized DoD users was able to register for an AKO/DKO account on 6 January Those members include a select group of personnel from Department of Labor (DOL) Defense Information Systems Agency Enterprise Data and Global Exchange (DISA EDGE) Joint Forces Command (JFCOM or USJFCOM)

DKO will ultimately enable knowledge sharing across the DOD community and help realize cost savings for DOD.
