The Game Plan Today, using the planning sheet handout, we will put our own individual vision of what we think an IB survey course should be into a plan. We’ll spend about minutes writing out our plan and the remainder of the time sharing ideas from our plan with everyone. If anyone has any questions or comments, please feel free to speak out.

Before we begin… I have a few sample assignments that I’d like to quickly present to you (I doubt if they show up well on the handout).

What To Do: Write a 4-6 page scholarly paper (Body only, Arial or Times New Roman, 12 point font, APA or MLA style (if you don’t know what this means, ask the librarian or research it online) on any W.T.O. member country of your choice EXCEPT the United States. Explain how this country benefits (or doesn’t – but then why would they remain a member?) from W.T.O membership, both in general AND specific terms. Use U.S. government agency or W.T.O. statistical data to illustrate the main concepts and to emphasize the points you are trying to make. Please report the sources (as stated below) of the facts that support your conclusion(s). When and How Due: This project will be collected in class on ________. Late papers accepted at the penalty rate of 10 points per day. CONCLUSION Building an IB survey course really isn’t that much different from building other survey courses. Analyzing and planning are essential to the process.
