The potential of the Structural Funds for Roma inclusion

Structural Funds and Roma inclusion  A new scenario of opportunities: the NRIS  The Structural Funds as a driver of the NRIS  Impact of the Structural Funds

The added value of the Structural Funds for Roma inclusion  The policy dimension of the Structural Funds  The potential to promote partnership and to mobilise resources  Structural Funds to produce structural changes

Conditions for an efficient use of the SF  The long-term approach and sustainability of projects  Ambitious, large-scale and results-oriented projects  Intermediate bodies with high level competencies for guaranteeing an efficient use of SF

 Complexity of the management and control system discourages the use of the SF  Promotes easy and manageable projects instead of complex projects to solve complex situations  Prevalence of discontinued and fragmented projects

 Linking the Structural Funds to the NRIS and EU2020 goals (i.e. formal coordination between Structural Funds Managing Authorities and NRIS Contact Points)  Putting into practice the integrated approach by facilitating the combination of funds  Supporting the 20% of ESF for social inclusion and fight against poverty
