Associated Features Being very work oriented and less time to socialize Really rigid and have poor interpersonal relationships Do not have any obsessive thoughts or compulsive behaviors Wonder if they are not orderliness, so tend to procrastinate Preoccupied with minor detail that forgets the main purpose of a task
Etiology Psychosexual Stage Anal Stage: A fixation in this stage can result to a personality that is too rigid or be really disordered It’s a fixation that occurs in an early stage of a child's life which is from 18 months - 3 years of age

Prevalence Systematic assessment shows the estimates of about 1% in the population 3-10% in individuals presenting to mental health clinics
Treatment Psychodynamic psychotherapy: Therapist often attack the fear of the need of the orderliness or use distraction technique to redirect the compulsive thoughts Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy: Focus on the thought processes, may reinforce this ruminative tendency
Prognosis The rigidness and control of OCPD may prevent many of the complications such as drug abuse, which are common in other personality disorders. However, the social isolation and difficulty handling anger that are common with this illness may lead to feelings of depression and anxiety later in life.
