Theme: “From Mt Sinai to Mt Zion” Hebrews 12:18-24

You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm; to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them, because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.” [Exodus 19:12,13] The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.” [Deut. 9:19] *Old Covenant (Law)-Mt Sinai

Hebrews 12:18-24 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel [Heb. 11:4]. * New Covenant (Grace by faith in Jesus Christ)-Mt Zion

Hebrews 11:4 By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead. * Abel’s Faith in God under the Old Covenant (The Law)

Matthew 17:19-20 Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive the demon out of the boy?” He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. * Faith in Jesus Christ Moves Mountains
