GGFN Children’s Programs GGFN Community Based Programming Restoring Harmony through Holistic Teaching –the four components of holistic teachings for our youth, will lead to the development of a healthy community and address various social issues addiction, suicide, family dynamics and mental health issues that negatively affect our First Nation

GGFN Children’s Programs GGFN Community Based Programming Restoring Harmony through Holistic Teaching –the four components of holistic teachings for our youth, will lead to the development of a healthy community and address various social issues

GGFN Children’s Programs Restoring Harmony through Holistic Teaching Spiritual Aspect Cultural Teachings –Program Content will include networking with Elders and other community members that are knowledgeable in various aspects of Traditions and Culture. Other activities will include Language Classes, Dancing and Singing, Teachings on Gender Roles, Feasts, Spirituality and Ceremonies.

GGFN Children’s Programs Restoring Harmony through Holistic Teaching Physical Aspect Sports and Recreation Program –A structured program will enable youth to participate in a variety of sports not typically offered in the community and will include recreational activities such as music, drama and creative writing

GGFN Children’s Programs Restoring Harmony through Holistic Teaching Emotional Aspect –Program Content will include referrals to the Family Wellness Cordinator/Counsellor for youth experiencing emotional issues –talking circles that will enable youth to discuss issues that are important to them –various mentors that will cover a variety of topics relevant to GGFN’s social issues

GGFN Children’s Programs Restoring Harmony through Holistic Teaching “These teachings are among the oldest teachings of First Nations people. The teachings found on the Medicine Wheel create a bio-psychosocial and spiritual foundation for human behaviour and interaction. The medicine wheel teachings are about walking the earth in a peaceful and good way, they assist in helping to seek; healthy minds, strong inner spirit, inner peace and strong healthy bodies”.
