STAAR Information Night Continued Presented By: Third Grade State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness

 The rigor of items has been increased because of new standards put in place (ELA)/reorganization of previous standards (Math).  A four-hour time limit has been established for STAAR, as opposed to TAKS which was untimed.  Third grade will take a lunch break half way through the testing time.  Students will now be marking answers on a separate answer document. APPLYING BLOOM’S 1.KNOWLEDGE……Recall the items used by Goldilocks in the three bears. 2. COMPREHENSION…….. Explain why Goldilocks liked Baby Bear’s chair. 3. APPLICATION……Demonstrate what Goldilocks would use if she came into your house. 4.ANALYSIS……Compare the story to reality. What incidents could not have happened? 5. SYNTHESIS…… Imagine how the story would be different if it were “Goldilocks and the Three Fishes. 6. EVALUATION……Judge whether Goldilocks was bad or good, and be prepare to defend your answer.
