Science Fiction Is a genre of fiction Involves elements of science – the stories always involve both partially true and partially fictitious laws or theories of science Is almost always set in the future
Science Fiction Is never completely believable. (If the plot, characters, and setting were completely believable, the genre would be easily confused with fantasy.)
Science Fiction The plots create different situations than those that would have been possible in the past, and those that would be possible in the present. Think “futuristic.”
Science Fiction Includes a human element and seeks to explain the effects that new developments may have on mankind in the future.
