Constructing a Land Use Map Land use maps are maps which provide information about land use. There are a number of different applications for such maps, and in many nations, land use maps are prepared by several government agencies, for a variety of reasons. Individual groups and organizations can also generate maps with land use information. Often, such maps are publicly available, so that people who are interested in land use trends can access them. One way to construct a land use map, is to use a photograph (a satellite photo) and replicate the photo, colouring in sections by what they are used for.
