Rescue 9–1–1

What would YOU do in case of an emergency? If you think someone is in trouble … You need to call

But what is in emergency ?? An emergency can be any serious situation that happens fast and unexpectedly.

Some emergencies may be: A dog bite A car accident A fire A fall Someone choking Someone not responding A fire

So you SEE an emergency… what can YOU do? Ask the person involved if they are okay and if they need help? If they don’t respond call 911 If they do respond and need help call 911

What do you say when you are on the phone with 911? The 911 operators are trained to help you They will ask you many questions Answer any questions they may have, even it may seem silly like “what is your name and how old are you?” Tell them what your emergency is exactly. For example, if it is a dog bite say so, if it is a bone injury say so.

Tell them the address of where you are. If you are not at home and you are uncertain of the address describe where you are. For example, if you are out to dinner with your family and someone is choking describe which restaurant you are at. If the operator gives you any instructions follow them immediately. Most of the time, operators will ask you to stay on the phone until help arrives.

What if you need help? If you are the one having an emergency and you need help… remind someone around you to call

911 is VERY serious. There are a lot of people that need help everyday. But not everyone needs serious help. If in doubt, check it out. Call 911. But do not call 911 unless there actually is an emergency. DO NOT call 911 as a joke!

Let Us Review…… In case of an emergency always call. If in doubt, check it out!!
