Anticipated Value Chapter 16 – Anticipated Value A learning opportunity to develop a greater awareness of the issues raised relating to the impact that education on informatics can have on nursing practice. Exercise 3 will assist you to integrate new knowledge and skills acquired from this edition by developing a more focused approach on the specific knowledge presented in this chapter. The assumed role will provide you with dedicated time to apply the humanistic information model in tandem with newly acquired knowledge and skills to a specific self selected practice setting.

Assessment Exercises Chapter 16 – Assessment Exercises Based on your readings in this chapter describe how do you think education can be used to influence the uptake of ICT in health and social care? Exercise 1 In this chapter the topic of the visibility and voice of nursing was explored in the context of ICT developments in health and social care over the past twenty years. Create a PowerPoint presentation which summarizes and debates for or against the identified critical factors discussed in Chapter 16. Exercise 2 As a recently appointed tutor or preceptor in your organization devise a teaching session for students explaining the core elements of the Humanistic Information Model. In this teaching session you can develop whatever material you wish to explain the model e.g. screencast, discussion forum template activity,concept map,website. You should include an assessment activity as part of the teaching session and plan to submit the resources developed into your learning plan. Exercise 3
