They use Basic math to Business math o How they Use Basic Math…  They use basic math to determine the amount of medication a patient needs depending on body weight  They also use basic math to calculate safe medication dosages o How they use Business Math…  Business Math is used if you run a private practice. Its used on a regular basis. It is used to determine your gross income, expenses, tax obligations and net income. o They also use Math to interpret test results.  Ex. During an Echocardiogram. An ultra sound technologist use a transducer to produce images of the heart. These images show any abnormalities such as an enlarged heart or heart defects. The cardiac surgeon uses math to determine the size of any tears, perforations or defects in the heart tissues. How is it used

Robotic surgery technology is used for various cardiac procedures. These would include… Atrial septal defect closures Certain types of coronary artery surgery Mitral valve replacement and repair The cardiac surgeon performs it in a room just feet away from the patient. The Surgeon uses robotic arms to control the robot in real time. The surgeon uses virtual images provided by laparoscopic cameras that are inserted by the breast that gives him 3-D details inside the patient. What interested you about your articles? Well I thought it is very cool how much we have advanced in the medical field. From traditional surgery to robotic surgery. What did you learn from your profession? I learned that math is used a lot. I also learned that they aren't only using cameras that display 2D picture but 3D. Also in my research I Learned that to becoming a surgeon it’s a long process. First its 4 years of college then 4 years of medical school after medical school you receive your M.D but you still go to school for 6-8 more years because you have to learn to become a surgeon then a heart surgeon. Is there anything about your chosen profession you would like to learn more about? I would like to learn if more heart surgeries are done robotic or traditional? I would also like to learn how they use math to interpret Echocardiograms?
