Indefinite Determiners and Indefinite Pronoun Some,any, no, none

B. We use any in negative statements and questions. a. Negative statements e.g. He has not got any questions.(before countable noun) He hasn’t got any money.(before uncountable noun) b. Questions e.g. Has he got any information?(before uncountable noun) Has she got any toys? (before countable noun)

C. ‘ No ’ and ‘ none ’ both mean ‘ not any ’. However, ‘ no ’ is used as an adjective and is put before a noun, while ‘ none ’ is mostly used as a pronoun on its own. e.g. I have got no milk in my tea. I have got none, either.

D. We use any in sentences with never. e.g. The poor girl never has any toys. He will never get any information from strangers. E. We sometimes use some in questions when we expect the answer to be yes. e.g. Would you like some more tea? Can you give me some stamps?

F. When we use some or any before the + a noun or before pronouns (this /that /his /her, etc), we add of. e.g. I gave Amy some of the sweets. I saw them but I didn’t speak to any of them. Are any of those buses going to Shatin?
