ANNOUNCING: Introduction to Psychopharmacology

PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS  Mental Health Practitioners  Wishing to further their knowledge about clinical psychopharmacology and skills in psychotropic interventions

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT  Students will receive 1 CE credit for each hour of instruction from the Southwestern Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy (SIAP) * SIAP maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

UPON COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM  After completion of 30 credits students will  Receive a certificate attesting to their knowledge about Basic Clinical Psychopharmacology  Be prepared to offer informed consultation regarding the use and management of psychotropics

BASIC PRINCIPLES  Medication is used judiciously and monitored closely  All interventions are integrated so that medication helps patients access their own strengths

CURRICULUM  Intensive Didactic Lectures  3 hours per lecture  Total = 7 Didactic Lectures  Short online exam after each lecture  Practical Module  1 hour per module  Total = 6 Practical modules  Short online exam after each module

CURRICULUM  Intensive Didactic Lectures  Primer  Treatment of Depression  Treatment of Bipolar  Treatment of Anxiety  Geropsychopharmacology  Pediatric Psychopharmacolgy  Gender Issues in Psychopharmacology

PRIMER  Will cover the basics of  Neurophysiology  Pharmacology  Clinical Psychopharmacology  Successful completion of primer is a prerequisite for all other coursework
