Special Event Parking Special events such as meetings, conferences, seminars, and camps play an important role in achievement of the university’s mission. Parking & Transportation Services assists in ensuring the success of these events by providing related parking arrangements.

Requests for Special Event Parking Accommodations Make parking arrangements with Parking & Transportation Services well in advance. To obtain the best possible parking for event guests and participants, please submit the Special Event Parking Request Form found under the Special Event Parking tab on the Parking and Transportation website.

After completing the online special event parking request form you will be contacted by and event coordinator within 1 business day.

Special Event Parking Rates Event parking rates apply for non-university sponsored/related events and certain public events.

Special Event Parking Rates If parking attendants are required for a large event, charges will apply.

Motor Fleet Vehicles may be rented by State Employees for use while on Official University business: Conference travel Business trips Lab field trips, etc. Vehicles must be reserved in advance through e-Travel system.

Vehicle Types: Sedans ($.53/mile):Minivans ($.60/mile): 1 driver + 4 passengers 1 driver + 7 passengers Motor Fleet

Vehicle Types: Large Vans ($.74/mile) :14 Passenger Buses ($.80/mile): 1 driver + 9 or 10 passengers 1 driver + 14 passengers

Motor Fleet Driver requirements: Valid NC driver’s license presented at time of vehicle request– approval based on DMV check will be granted by UPD. Driver must be on UNCW payroll and identified as a State Employee, receiving wages and salary during the course of University business. Van safety training (takes about 1 hour) for full size vans and 14 passenger buses (bused do not require a special license). Must be used for official university business. No personal use allowed. If the vehicle type you need is unavailable UNCW has a contract with Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Triangle Rent-A-Car. We will send you there. Visit UNCW.edu/parking/motorfleet for more details.

Motor Fleet Helpful Hints: Reserve vehicles as far in advance as possible. All drivers must be approved in advance and have required training if applicable. Vehicles are not for personal use.

Visitor Parking If you have a visitor who needs to park, the main visitor parking lot on campus is Lot M, located on Riegel Road. For convenience, pay meters are located in designated visitor areas around campus. Cost is $1.00/hour. Visitor parking is available on the first floor of the parking deck. 1 st ½ hour is free, $1.50 per hour, $10 daily max. *Deck parking can be validated for events.

If your department is moving to another building, please contact Parking and Transportation. We will do everything we can do to make sure you have adequate parking at your new location. Moves Beginning of Fall Semester During this crazy time, Parking and Transportation will provide staff on various parking lots to help students understand where they can and cannot park.
