“Pay it Forward” All Volunteer free weekly Job Search Support and Networking group

Who are we? A grassroots organization with free, local weekly meetings that are peer-led by volunteers to support people actively seeking employment.

What do we offer? We follow a “pay it forward” model and provide a positive, non-judgmental environment in which members: Share job search techniques Share personal experiences Share personal and professional network We help facilitate personal and professional networking both inside and outside of meetings. We expose members to job-search resources available at local host libraries, colleges and other appropriate venues.

Membership Open anyone searching for a job, seeking career change, or looking to grow their business. People from all professional areas: IT HR Accounting, Finance Marketing and Sales Legal Management Administration recent graduates and many more.

Meeting Format Facilitator – brief statement of group mission Brief introduction – (30 second elevator pitch) by each attendee New members – get additional talking time All members – update group on weeks progress for job search and leads Job leads/opportunities (from all) Request for contacts Hot companies Upcoming networking events Lessons learned this week Volunteer opportunities Open discussion & specific calls for help (from all) Reminder to send job leads to John F. for forwarding Other business (from all)

Spread the Word Increase awareness among local businesses New Jersey print and online publications, television, and radio Volunteer members conduct local outreach to raise awareness of the group Increase public awareness for potential members Helpful resource for out-placed employees Primary resource to fill job openings Value Proposition for local businesses Free job postings (save $$) Unique community-based marketing and PR opportunity

Donations Accepted Stay Connected – Program to get hardware donations of equipment when companies, schools and individuals get new Desktops, Laptops, and Cell phones, Monitors, Printers, and repurposed them for members who need this equipment to conduct a job search Work with businesses who might want to help with donating services of use to the membership. Free Dry Cleaning, Suits and interview clothes, cars, etc. We are a 501 C 3 and can accept donations for our various programs.
