Why Not a new idea. We began discussing Districtwide “Technology Support” in November 1999 The budget crisis forced each College and the District Office to reduce staff in the technical areas. Yet, the workload remains approximately the same. It was the Right Thing to do!

Technology Liaison The Technology Liaison position is responsible for ensuring that each College’s administrative and instructional technology infrastructure is maintained at peak performance at all times. The Liaison position ensures that the necessary computer, software, and network resources are available to support each Colleges instructional priorities. The Technology Liaison serves as the technology resource for College administration and faculty. By invitation, the Technology Liaison attends administrative, departmental, and faculty meetings. The Liaison has a dotted-line reporting responsibility to the appropriate College administrator. The Technology Liaison positions primary responsibility is to ensure that the necessary technology resources are available to help each College meets its goals. Sample duties:  serve as a technology resource to the College  assist campus with layout & equipment specifications  develop & maintain a College technology plan  work with campus to develop a technology budget  assist campus with equipment specification  assist with lab layout and setup  provide overall campus technology leadership
