Alive-O 6 Term 2: Lesson 6 Lent

The following slides will facilitate the work for Day Five on page in the Alive-O 5 teacher’s manual.

Jesus goes into the Wilderness When Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist in the Jordan, he was thirty years old.

He knew that he was going to begin the work he had to do. He was going to go around the countryside telling the people about God the Father.

He would help them to know how much God loved them.

He would tell them about what they should do to make God’s kingdom come on earth. He would show them how to live and how to love one another.

The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness, where he stayed for forty days and forty nights.

During that time he ate nothing. It was a time when he prepared to do the work his father had sent him to do.

He was going to leave behind his life in Nazareth and begin his work of preaching and teaching.
