Gases: Ideal Gas Law Dr. Chu River Dell Regional High School

 Gas molecules are far apart so the volume each gas molecule occupies is negligible compared to the volume the gas occupies.  Gas molecules do not interact with each other.  All collisions between gas molecules and walls of the container are elastic, meaning no energy loss in the form of heat during collision.

 For 4 moles of a gas at a pressure of 5.6 atm and a volume of 12 liters, what is the temperature?

 What volume would 32.0 g of NO 2 gas occupy at 3.12 atm and 18.0°C?

 Determine the density of CO 2 at 745 mmHg and 65 o C?

 At what temperature does 16.3 g of nitrogen gas have a pressure of 1.25atm in a 25.0 L tank??  Calculate the molecular weight of a gas if g of the gas stored in a 7.50 L tank that exerts a pressure of 60.0 atm at a constant temperature of 35.5°C.  An unknown gas has a density of g/L at STP. What is the identity of the gas? (Ar, O 2, Cl 2, HF, H 2 O)?
