Record Crowds Flock to the British Museum 大英博物館 參觀人數創新高

The British Museum in London received record number of visitors in Over 6.7million people passed through its doors, beating the previous record of 5.9 million visitors in 2008.

The figure is also a 20 percent increase on the number of visitors in The museum’s website also received 47 percent more traffic 流量 in 2013 than in the previous year.

The British Museum opened to the public in It contains pieces from all corners of the globe. The collection includes mummies 木乃伊 from Egypt, ancient artifacts 手工藝品 from Greece, and drawings by Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci.

It has also featured 以 … 為特色 famous touring exhibits like the Treasures of Tutankhamun 圖坦卡門 ( 法老王 ) and China’s Terracotta Army 兵馬俑. Recently, it presented the popular exhibit Life and Death in Pompeii, and a display of Ice Age art.

Museum director Neil MacGregor said, “This is truly a dynamic 有活力的 collection that belongs to and is used by a global citizenship 公民身分.”

The record numbers in 2013 prove that the British Museum is the perfect place to appreciate some of humanity’s 人類 treasures.
