A lot can change in a generation, the environment, the technology, the development. All this affects a teenagers life. Comparing our teenage lives with our parents’ teenage lives, it will be very different. A lot depends on where you live because that influences what kind of environment you are in and how fast things get out.

Our Generation Well in our generation we rely a lot on technology and computers for saving files and communicating, one of the most mainstream thing to have is Facebook and/or Skype. Usually we get home, do homework and go on Facebook or a social networking site. Instead of CDs and VCRs we are mostly doing everything electronically, downloading onto computers, no hard copy at all. Our Parents’ Generation In our parents’ generation, there was not very much technology, They had just came out with VCR tapes. CDs were also a big development. They barely ever spent their time on the computer and my mom didn’t even have a laptop.

Our Generation Nowadays we have flat screen TVs, that are big and very thin. There are many channels and many teen shows such as: iCarly Drake and Josh SpongeBob Phineas and Ferb Wizards of Waverly Place Vampire Diaries America’s Next Top Model (and many more) Our Parents’ Generation Cable didn’t exist, only an antenna. Some of the shows they watched: Brady Bunch Batman Mr. ED G.I. Joe 8 is Enough Tom and Jerry

Our Generation In Our generation it seems that we don’t spend as much time playing sports as our parents did because usually we are indoors in on the computer. When we do play sports we play a lot of the same sports as our parents like soccer, basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, track almost anything. Since we live in Barbados a lot of us know how to surf and/or sail but that just depends on where you live. Our Parents’ Generation Our parents were mostly out side playing sports more than inside and they played many of the same sports as we do these days. Soccer, basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, track, maybe the only difference is that they sometimes went roller blading, but that just depends on where you live and what opportunities you have, My Parents lived in California and Oregon when they were teens.

Our Generation Pop is really taking off and Hip hop and rap are pretty new and popular. There are countless artists and styles in our generation. Our Parents’ Generation Disco was really popular when my mom and dad were in school. Also Saturday Night Fever was very mainstream.

Our Generation There is so much technology nowadays we don’t really get outside. If we do its usually to play a sport or swim. Boy scouts and Girl Scouts are dying nowadays. Our Parents’ Generation My Parents spent a lot of their time outside, camping our making hide outs or clubs in nature. In that time their was also a lot of camping, my mom was a girl scout and my dad was a boy scout.

Our Generation We have a lot of meet out spots: Movie theater Mall School Dances Beaches Yacht Club (we don’t have that many because we hang out a lot online; skype and facebook and twitter.) Our Parents’ Generation They had a lot of the same ones as we do: Movie Theater Malls School Dances Bowling Allies Roller Skating rinks
