reen 1 Project Description: The Green Book, also known locally as the Green Directory, is a project in development which transforms research and data into a searchable directory of not-for-profit environmental organizations in the community. It is the first and most comprehensive directory of its kind, encompassing over 70 organizations locally, and a preview was first unveiled at #WRENE2012. Objectives: Develop a cohesive, research based database which organizes local environmental organizations to easily facilitate connections and map out the collaboration efforts within the environmental community Project Overview September 2013 | Version 1.0

2 Immediate Needs: The database is complete in the sense that the information is compiled, however still to be developed and refined further is its “community value” - how to organize the information in a way that it will be the most useful to the needs it is fulfilling. Develop specific criteria to suggest what defines a "Green organization“ to become a participating member To evolve and include for-profit organizations, a need clearly needs to be defined and justified, along with the purpose it will service, and what it is not YOU, the environmental community, keeping us informed of new groups or changes in existing groups! Next Steps/Roles: SPCKW is continuing to provide and manage knowledge development Green Rocket is facilitating the development of the project and its connection to and use by the community Following #WRENE 2013, we will regroup and initiate a kick off meeting to continue momentum!
