Presentation Guidelines

Topics No more than one topic per slide If necessary, one topic may be continued onto another slide

7 x 7 Rule No more than 7 lines of text No more than 7 words on each line

Typeface and Font Size Title: Use Sans serif (no curly feet) such as Arial Level one: Level two: 28 Level three: 24 Body text: 24 (minimum font for any slide)

Color Use the same color throughout the presentation Use dark letters on light background Use light letters on dark background

Bullets vs. Numbers Use bullets instead of numbers Numbers imply sequence Bullets show no specific order

Graphics Make sure graphics are not distorted Allow plenty of space for borders or graphics Add clipart only where appropriate

Charts Use solid fills instead of patterns on charts or graphs Patterns may convey confusion

Keep it Simple Highlight important points Add other pertinent information to the “notes” section of the page
