11 Eberswalde - Finow Airfield (EDAV) 11/2005 main reasons for the engagement of WVZ: loyality to the region, preventing the airfield from getting closed good chance to earn much money on a long term, the conception is based on the following facts: first class strategic location in regard to traffic, logistics and the conurbation of north Berlin/Brandenburg still missing alternate for the future single airport BBI still missing functional regional airports around Berlin LCC’s looking for alternatives to BBI for serving Berlin enough space, the ground lease allows an airport with 240 ha plus an industrial zone of 150 ha own business interests in the improvement and development of the airfield and industrial zone around
